About Delta State: Delta State was created on the 27th August, 1991 from defunct Bendel State. Bendel State was formally known as the Midwestern Region at the time it gained regional status in August, 1963, from the western region. At the inception of Delta State it was made up of twelve political divisions called Local Government Area (L.G.A.), which was later increased to 19 in 1996. Presently the State is made up of 25 Local Government areas.
Delta State Government is currently seeking active private investment and/or partnership in the areas of industry, commerce, mining, agriculture and agro-based industries, so as to harness her abundant human and natural resources
Delta State has scores of attractions that are simply compelling. Fascinating palaces, historic sites, monuments, birthplaces of famous people, traditional festival and craft centres. Examples are Nana’s Palace, Koko- This is a living History Museum.
The people of Delta State enjoy making and listening to music which is predominant in all their ceremonies - religious and social. Music is employed to reflect many moods; the drumming for example, can signal the emergence of war.
