THE COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Rev (Mrs) Omatsola
Williams (nee Luckh) was bom on the 24th of November in 1951 at Ilorin,
Kwara State of Nigeria. Genealogically, she is paternally from Olobe,
Ugborebo in Warri South West, Okere in Warri South and Koko in Warri North,
and maternally from Baterel in Warri South-West of Delta State. Rev (Mrs) Omatsola Williams holds a Master degree in HealthEducation from the famous University of Benin (UNIBEN), Benin City, Edo 1996, a Bachelor's degree in Physical and Health Education 1991 (Second Class Upper Division) and a Diploma in Health Administration and Management in 1984, all from the University of Benin. She also holds Technical Teachers Certificate in nursing Education from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, 1979, She is a registered Midwife - R.M and a registered Nurse - R.N from the School of Midwifery, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, 1976 and State School of Nursing, Benin City 1974, respectively. WORKING EXPERIENCE Rev. (Mrs) Omatsola Williams is a seasoned administrator and politician, an erudite scholar, a sport enthusiast and a professional nurse and nurse-educator whose wealth of working experience spans from the 1970's. Her first working experience started in 1974 through 1978 as a practicing Nursing Administrator in the Clinical setting, and in 1979 she became a lecturer in the then Bendel State School of Nursing, Benin City where she worked as a lecturer for eight years. Having spent meaningful eight years as a lecturer in 1987 she joined the Ministry of health, Benin City in the defunct Bendel State as a Principal Planning Officer in the Department of Planning, Research and Statistics, In 1990, she assumed the position of an Assistant Chief Planning Officer/Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, and was later Director of Sports, Ministry of Social Development, Youth, Sports and Culture, Asaba, Delta State. She retired from the Delta State Civil Service as a Director of Sports in 1994After which she was appointed by the first Civilian Governor of the State, Olorogun Felix Ibru as a Board Member, Delta State Sports Council from 1992 to 1993. She was appointed as a member of the Delta State Delegates to the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, and Secretary, Delta State Chapter of World Cup Soccer in 1994. From 1994 to 1995, she was the Zonal Coordinator of the Nigerian Baseball and Softball Association, comprising of Edo, Ondo and Delta States. From 1997 to 1998, she was the Programme Coordinator, Women's Health and Action Research Centre, Benin City and a Member of the Delta State Urban Water Board from 1999 to 2003. Again, from 2003 to 2006, she was a Member, Governing Council, College of Education, Warri, Delta State and in 2005, she became a member of the African Boxing Congress/Boxing Federation of Nigeria and Chairman, Female Boxing Commission of Nigeria Amateur Boxing Association. She was a member of the Women Commission of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, 2001-2005, and currently the National Vice President of the Nigerian Association of Women Sports. Rev(Mrs) 'Tsola Williams
was appointed a Project/Programme Monitor for Warri North local Government
Area of Delta from 2006 to 2007. She was Assistant Director, Women Mobilization
for Uduaghan - PDP Campaign Organization, Asaba in 2007. She is a Christian and an ordained Reverend of the Church of the Lord (Aladura) Worldwide (CLAW) with its International Headquarters at Ogere in Ogun State, Nigeria. Her activities in the church have elevated her to the status of being member of the Primate in Council of the (CLAW), the highest policy making body of the church organization. In addition she is also the Chairman of the Youth Advisory Board of the Church of the Lord Aladura Worldwide. She is presently the Hon. Commissioner for Directorate of Youth Development. She is married to Chief Saka Adebowale Williams of Lagos State and blessed with a son, Rasheed Adebowale Williams. Send
