GOVERNOR EMMANUEL UDUAGHAN COMMISERATE WITH THE INIJE FAMILY

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has commiserated with the Inije family on the death of their father Ambassador Ray Inije who passed on in the early hours of Saturday, August 9.

Governor Uduaghan who arrived the Inije family house in Effurun immediately the news of the death of Chief Ray Inije reached him said it came as a shock as on one expected the one time Deputy Governor of the defunct Bendel State to die when he did.

He described the Late Chief Ray Inije as a father, an elder and a stateman who contributed immensely to the State and to Nigeria.

Governor Uduaghan asked the family to take solace in the fact that their father lived a useful life and left a legacy as a role model for politicians and others in the society to emulate.

Before signing the condolence register, Governor Uduaghan was briefed by family members of events leading to the death of the former Ambassodor to Phillipines in the Obasanjo administration by Chief Judith Emubor Enamotor.
According to her, Chief Ray Inije was immediately rushed to the hospital when the family noticed he had taken ill shortly after midnight 'They said he was vomitting and had to rush him to the hospital. About 3.25am when the doctors eventually saw him he was dead' she concluded.

Governor Uduaghan who was visibly shocked by the incident asked what preparations had been made to ensure proper care for the body of the Late Ambassador.

Signing the condolence register the Governor refered to Late Chief Ray Inije as a father. His words 'Daddy,was a father very dear to us, he contributed immensely to the development of Delta State'.

In a letter to the family Governor Uduaghan asked God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss of their father.

The Late Chief Ray Inije who hailed from Jesse in Ethiope West Council Area was aged 72.

UDUAGHAN COMMISSIONS SMS CITIZENS CENTRE TOMORROW

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan will on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, commission the Delta State Citizens Short Messages Centre at Government House, Asaba.

The SMS facility is designed as an interactive medium through which text messages can be sent to 32815 or 07055572307, with a real time response to every enquiry.

Linked to the Governor's website, www.governoruduaghan.org, Delta State citizens and other residents without access to the internet, but who own GSM phones, will have unimpeded opportunity to send text messages to the Governor on all issues that agitate their minds. The SMS Centre also provides the opportunity for Deltans to receive up- to-date and real time abridged information on any activity or policy statement of the Governor.
