Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is Governor of the Year

His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, Governor, Delta State has emerged as governor of the Year at the THISDAY Awards 2008 which was held in Lagos on the night of Sunday 17th Feburary, 2008.

In a colourful and high-profile world-class ceremony, former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, presented the plaque to Governor Uduaghan, alongside his colleagues from Lagos and Imo State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola and Ikedi Ohakim respectively, who also won the honours.

Governor Uduaghan won the award for chatting a development roadmap on his Three point agenda of Peace and Security, Human Capital Development and Infrastructure Development and for ensuring peace and development throughout Delta State in the last eight months.

Also nominated for the prestigious THISDAY Governor of the Year award were Governors Gabriel Suswan of Benue State, Mamman Ali of Yobe State, Liyel Imoke of Cross River, and Sule Lamido of Adamawa.
