MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY Hon. (Mrs.) Theodora Chinweume Monu-Olarewaju was born on the 19th October, 1960 in Lagos. She hails from Asaba, Oshimilli South LGA of Delta State. She attended St. Mary's Primary School, Lagos(First School Leaving Certificate), Anglican Girl's Grammar School (AGGS), Asaba(West African School Certificate (WASC)), Federal School of Arts and Science, Victoria Island, Lagos, (High School Certificate (HSC))University of Sokoto, Nigeria (B.A. History) 1982 - 1985, University of Buckingham, England (LLB) 1987 - 1990) and University of Hull, England - Master of Business Administrator (MBA) 1997-1999. She also attended the following courses; Leadership Course for Women Activist, Women in Politics Leadership Course, Community (Self Help) Poverty Eradication Course and Law Making for better Governance Course. She has worked in John Singh &: Co. Solicitor, London, Special Adviser (S.A) to Federal Minister for Police Affairs, 1999-2000, Legislator, Delta State House of Assembly, Asaba and Chairperson, House Services &: Protocol Committee, 2003 - 2007 She is a member of;
Federation of International Women Lawyers (FIDA), International Bar Association
(lBA).
Awards so far received; International Who's Who of Professionals in 1999, International Rotary Club Merit Award for Community Services in 1999, Asaba Community Merit Award for Excellence.2001, International Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow Award - 2005, Harvard University and John F. Kennedy School of Management Studies, Massachusetts, U.S.A., Best Course Participant Award. Her hobbies includes;
Swimming, Golf, Squash, Reading, Ardent Jazz Listener, Traveling. She
speaks English Language and her mother tongue Ibo Fluently. Average fluency
in French, Hausa and Yoruba.
