Sir. Patric FerifeSir Patrick Orthuke Ferife, the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Development hails from Ozoro in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
He attended Agbarho Grammar School, Agbarho where he obtained the West African School Certificate in 1980. In 1982, he obtained H.S.C from the most prestigious Government College, Ughelli.
In his quest for more knowledge, Sir Ferife proceeded to the University of Benin, Benin City from where he bagged a degree (B. Pharm) in Pharmacy in 1988.
To further strengthen his desire to be in tune with the modern realities of Information and Communication Technology, he proceeded to the City Business School, Benin City where he got a qualification in Computer Appreciation and Operations in 1995.
Sir Patrick Orthuke Ferife also attended the Mactay Tack Training Institute where he had a qualification in Field Sales Management in 1997.
Unsatisfied with the level of his educational qualification, Sir Ferife swiftly went back to the prestigious University of Benin (UNIBEN) for his post graduate where he obtained Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 1998.
Between 1992 and 1994, he worked at Roche Nigeria Limited as a Medical/Sales Representative. He later rose to the position of Senior Medical Representative in the same firm between 1994 and 1996, and as a result of his outstanding performance in the company, Sir Ferife rose to the position of Area Manager between 1996 and 1999.
In 1999, he left Roche Nig. Ltd for D-Glopa Nig. Ltd where he occupied the exalted position of the Managing Director till 2003 when he joined active politics.
As a politician, his first appointment was, member, Board of Directors, Delta State Hospital Management Board, the office he held from 2003 to 2006.
However, from 2006 to 2007, he became the Chairman, Board of Directors, Delta State Printing and Publishing Company. Moreso, In 2008, Sir Ferife was appointed the Special Project Director in charge of the Ughelli Asaba Dualisation Project, the office he manned till 2011.
No sooner than the Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan was elected for a second term, he constituted the State Executive Council and appointed Sir Patrick Orthuke Ferife as a Civil Commissioner to pilot the affairs of the office of the Commissioner for the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Development in 2011, the office he oversees till date.
Other positions he held at one time or the other include; Chairman, Committee on Delta State Drug Revolving Fund; Member, Contact Committee: PDP Campaign Organisation, Secretary: Knights of St. John International, Ughelli, as well as the Worthy President: Knights of St. John International, Ughelli.
As a Medical/Sales Representaive in Roche Nig. Ltd, Sir Ferife was responsible for the detailing, promotion and sales of anti-malaria, benzodiaphine, anti-retrovirals, anti-depressants, antibiotics and analgesics to hospitals, pharmacies and distributors nation-wide. As well as Organising Clinical seminars in hospital and clinics.
As a Senior Medical/Sales Representative, he was responsible for the sale of pharmaceutical products and clinical seminars at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital(UBTH), University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital(UITH), University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Federal Medical Centre, Owo, and Federal Medical Centre , Asaba, as well as NNPC and Shell Hospital, and Delta State General Hospitals.
In his capacity as the Area Manager at Roche Nig. Ltd, he was able to achieve the status of introducing new producs, meeting Area sales Targets, training of medical representatives, and implementation of Marketing Action Plan at Area Level.
As Managing Director of D-Glopa Nig. Ltd, he was saddled with the responsibility of formulating policies for the management of the pharmaceutical and consumer products for the company, articulating a vision and mission for the company, setting goals, objectives and targets for the company and ensuring that targets are met and last but not the least, and also ensuring that the company is profitable.
While functioning as Member Delta State Hospital Management Board, Sir Ferife was in charge of Policy Formulation, Staff Discipline/Training, Recruitment and Supervision of Government Hospitals/Health Centers.
As Chairman, Delta State Printing and Publishing Company, he succeeded in maintaining cordial atmosphere at Board Meeting, ensuring high quality of The Pointer Newspaper, formulating policies in increased revenues to the parastatal, budgeting and presenting budgets to appropriation committees as well as formulating policies and guidelines.
In his capacity as a Special Project Director, he was responsible for raising a bill of quantities with the consultant and engineers of various project, ensuring that due process is followed before the award of contract/project, reporting work activities to the Governor of Delta State, ensuring that contractors are paid for job properly done, and supervision of projects executed among other tasks.
