MR. CHARLES EMETULU

Mr. Emetulu Chukwuemeke Charles, Christian by birth was born in Abbi town in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State on October 26, 1966.

He attended the state primary school Rumuomasi, Port Harcourt in Rivers State from 1972 – 1978 where he got his First School Leaving Certificate and later proceeded to James Welch Grammar School Emevor in Delta State from 1978 – 1983 where he sat for his West African School Certificate result. Thereafter, he proceeded to the defunct Bendel State University Abraka campus from 1984 – 1987 where he bagged the Nigerian Certificate of Education.

Still, in search of more knowledge, Mr. Emetu later proceeded to the Delta State University, Abraka in Delta State from 1989 – 1992 where he later got his Bachelor Degree in English Language Education.
Mr. Emetulu worked in Jormax Commercial College, Port Harcourt from 1988 – 1989 and Our Lady of Fatima Girls' School, Kaduna (NYSC) 1994 – 1995 as a tutor respectively.

He also worked as operations manager, IFEM Nigeria Ltd, Port Harcourt from 1995 – 1998 and later Managing Director, Fields of Gold Enterprises from 1998 – June 2011.
Mr. Emetulu who is an Educationist, Politician and Media Practitioner had held the following exotic positions:
I')    First member, Delta State Post Primary Education Board from 2008-2010.
ii)    Special Assistant to the Special Project Director, Ogbe-Ijoh market and Udu Harbour market project from 2006 – 2007.
iii)    Political aid to the Hon. Commissioner for Commerce And Industry, Delta State from 2003 – 2005.

iv)    Editor-in-chief, Kadcorps publication, NYSC, Kaduna, 1994 —1995.
v)    Chairman, publicity and enlightenment committee NYSC, Kaduna, 1994 —1995
vi)    Adviser to the president on Parliamentary Matters, Student Union Government, Bendel State University, 1985 -1986.
vii)    Member, Peoples Democratic party ward 9, Abbi, Ndokwa West 1999 to date
He is also a recipient of the following awards:
i)    NYSC Kaduna "State Honours Award" 1993/94 service year
ii)    Rotary Club of Asaba Central "Vocational Service Award"
iii)    National Association of Niger-Delta Students (NANDS) Award as Niger Delta symbol of pragmatic leadership.
iv)    The frontline news "Millennium Service Award for integrity in Service.
v)    Patron, Abbi Progressive Club of Nigeria (APCN)
vi)    Akashiede Girls Senior College Obianuku "Award for Philanthropic Services"
His hobbies includes, reading, playing scrabble, indoor games, watching sports and watching movies.
Mr. Charles Emetulu who is presently the Commissioner for Energy is married with a child.
