The Delta State government is to level on the gains of the boat regatta in honour of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II coronation anniversary to organize a national boat regatta to promote the rich cultural heritage of the country and the State in particular.
Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan of Delta State has emerged the new Chairman, Forum of Governors of member states of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC. The Governor who spoke shortly after his emergence at Government House, Port Harcourt said he would emphasis on the need for the Commission to complete its ongoing projects in the region before embarking on new ones.
Governors of the six South-South States of the country have condemned, in the strongest terms, the twin bomb attacks on Thisday Newsspaper Offices in Abuja and Kaduna state. In a joint statement issued on the sidelines of the 2nd South-South Economic Summit in Asaba, the Delta State Capital, the Governors described the attacks as barbaric and cowardly.
Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has expressed shock and sadness over the death of three journalists in a ghastly motor accident that involved the convoy of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State at the weekend.
Reacting to news of the accident, Dr Uduaghan said that the accident was bad enough adding that he was grieved that it resulted in deaths.
