Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has cautioned members of the State Executive Council against disloyalty to the Government as such acts would no longer be tolerated by his administration. Dr. Uduaghan who gave the warning at the Catholic Eccumenical Centre Issele-Uku during a prayer session, enjoined Council members not to betray the confidence reposed in them.
The Governor who was reacting to the short exhortation by Rev. Fr. Mario Dibie of Maryland Ecumenical Centre, Issele- Uku, said betrayal of trust was like an open wound which was not only deadly but has monumental impact. He said it was better for someone who do not believe in a system to resign than for such a person to stay and later betray and deal an unfriendly cut to a trusted friend.
His words “Betrayal of trust is too dangerous. It has killed many people. In Julius Caesar, it was the realization by Caesar that Brutus stabbed him that made him to die quickly. Do not betray those who trust you. It is not good, it is unforgiveable”. Meanwhile the governor has promised to assist the orphans in the Maryland Ecumenical Center Issele-Uku and directed the State Ministry of Women Affairs to assist the church in caring for the orphans.
He said he was touched by the humanitarian work being done by Rev. Mario Dibie and promised to assist pay the school fees of the orphans. Carrying one of the orphans the governor said “I am happy that the orphans are with their spiritual family. Ministry of women affairs shall look at what is happening here and assist.”
The Governor who later visited Baptist Girls High School Agbor to inspect on-going reconstruction works, urged students of the school to keep the premises tidy. He said while it was the responsibility of government to provide infrastructure in the schools, the students have the duty to keep the premises of such infrastructure clean.
Dr. Uduaghan who also inspected the Orogodo Bridge in Agbor enjoined the contractor to complete the project on schedule and expressed satisfaction with the extent of work done on the bridge. He charged the contractors to re-double effort and complete the project before the rains start.
