SPECIAL DUTIES(GOVERNMENT HOUSE) He started his working career as a Police Officer and served in Lagos, and in different parts of the present day Cross River/Akwa Ibom States. Also took up an appointment with the Delta Glass Company, Ughelli as a Store officer/Workshop Supervisor, and left there to work briefly as a classroom teacher He finally quit paid employment in 1981, and since then, he has been in big time business. His business interest now span over, Estate Development, Road transportation/haulage, fabrication of sound proof generators and production of bolts and nuts in partnership with Geesipe Ferraro, an Italian.;with offices in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Warri. He is also into the hospitality industry with the opening of Godatin Hotels Ltd (a 70 chalet/suites) at Enerhen, Warri. In 1996 he joined hands with like minds to form the Grass Roots Democratic Movement (GDM) in Oghara during the Sani Abacha era. The death of Sani Abacha in 1998 saw the emergence of another democratic setting, and Mr. Kpateghe along with his political associates formed the Delta National Congress, which later transformed into the Peoples Democratic Party (POP) in Delta State. With the nomination of Chief James Onanefe Ibori, as the Delta State (PDP) Gubernatorial candidate in 1998,. Mr. Kpateghe was appointed as the Director of Finance of Chief Ibori's campaign organization. Consequent upon the victory of Chief Ibori at the polls as Governor in 1999, the political profile of Mr. Kpateghe took an upward swing. First he was appointed as Special Assistant, (Gen. Duties) (1999-2003), then Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport in [2003-2005]. Mr. Kpateghe impeccable drive for goals, and a genuine resolve for hard work, largely accounted for his appointment as the Director-General of Delta State Direct Labour Agency in February 2006. An office he vacated in May 2007, consequent upon the dissolution of the Board. One thing that must be noted, is that as a Special Assistant, and later as a Special Adviser on Transport to the Governor, provided him the opportunity to gain insight into and has no doubt exposed him to the intricate nature of State matters. Also, the profile of DLA rose significantly in Government and corporate circles within the relatively short period (sixteen months) he spent there. Champion Kpateghe is an ordained Pastor of the Jesus Saves Ministries, an astute businessman, a seasoned administrator, and an active member of the [PDP] People Democratic Party in Delta State. His political experience includes; Membership of Liberian for peoples Front of Nigeria,1992, Memebership of Social Democratic Party, 1993, Chairmanship of UNCP(Ward 6) Asaba1996, Leader P.D.P.(Ward 6) Asaba. Chairmanship Aspirant PDP(OSHIMILI SOUTH L.G.A.) 2002 and Secretary to Oshimilli South Local Government 2005-2007. He likes Footbal and Reading and is married with 4 children.
