Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development

MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS, COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Queen Victoria Nkem Egun Ikenchuku, Queen Mother, Ojeba of Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State was born in Enugu on January 17, 1960.

She had her primary school education in Enugu and Kaduna and her secondary school education at Mary Mount College, Agbor from where she obtained her West African School Certificate in 1975.

Based on her excellent School Certificate result, she was employed as an Auxiliary Teacher at Baptist Girls High School.
In July, 1977, she became a famous mother when she was delivered of the first male child and crown prince of Agbor Kingdom, Prince Benjamin Keagborekuzi Ikenchuku and was blessed with a second son, Prince Davis Aguobasimin Ikenchuku on January 19, 1979.

Following the passing away of Obi Ikenchuku in 1979 Queen Victoria made history once again when the 2 years and 4 months old son was crowned King and Dein of Agbor. The Guinness Book of Records noted in 1980 that His Majesty, Keagborekuzi I, was the youngest crowned Monarch in the world.

Queen Victoria Ikenchuku relocated to Europe with her two sons in 1980. Between 1980 and 1981, she studied for her A' Levels and subsequently gained admission to study at Thames Valley University, Ealing, London from where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Humanities
with a major in Psychology in 1986.

Between 1982 and 1995, she had a volunteer career with London Borough of Ealing Social Services while managing a Counsling Service at the PRIORY Community Centre, Acton Lane, Acton W3 and completing a Diploma Course in person centered Counseling at MET ANIA Psychotherapy Training Institute in Ealing, London after which she
embarked on Psychotherapy Training in Gestalt, Couples Psychotherapy and later Clinical Supervision Training at Revision on North London.

This marked Queen Victoria Ikenchuku's formal journey into Welfare, social and community development related issues. As this was her area of focus as Queen before she left for the U.K.

She embarked on courses and training that would equip her to perform effectively - Personal and Couples, Psychotherapy, Group Training, Management, risk and leadership in substance misuse, neuro-linguistic programming for social services, training in understanding and challenging racism, clinical supervision, staff selection and recruitment, hypnosis skill training, strategic planning, quality assurance, anger management, alcohol misuse, Addition studies, HlV/AIDS awareness, effective parenting skills, domestic violence and other women issues.

Queen Victoria Ikenchuku's employment history while in Britain reveals experience in Drug/Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation, Primary and Aftercare Services, Addiction Counseling, working with drug traffickers in prison while working at the Nigerian High Commission in Britain, coordinating group seminars for Africans in Hounslow and serving as a passport officer in the Consular Affairs Section of the Nigerian Embassy in Britain, Child Welfare issues, youth offending and other social Welfare Issues.

The Queen Mother, Ojeba of Agbor Kingdom, returned finally to Nigeria in March, 2006. She immediately embarked on community related issues to facilitate peace and security in the domain of Dein Keagborekuzi I, in particular and Delta State in general. She midwifed the Agbor Youth and Women Development, Learning and Empowerment Centre - a skill's Acquisition Centre.

As the preparation for the 2007 general election gathered momentum, she found herself having to serve as a rallying point for the people of Ika South and Women in Delta State.

She was fully involved in the electioneering campaigns. It was no surprise, therefore, that she was invited to serve in the Delta State Transition Committee in April, 2007 .

She is reported to have contributed very meaningfully to deliberations of the Transition Committee. His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, therefore, found her worthy to serve in the Executive Council of the State.

Today, Queen Victoria Nkem Egun-Ikenchuku, Queen Mother and Ojeba of Agbor Kingdom is the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Delta State.

Hobbies include growing people, golf, gardening, meditation, arts and
cultural etc.
