Lauds Youth Commissioner For Initiating 'Youth Liberation Night'

The Honourable Member
representing Burutu II constituency in the State House of Assembly, Honourable
Funkekeme Solomon, has commended the Honourable Commissioner for Youth
Development Reverend (Mrs.) Omatsola Williams for her foresight in initiating
the monthly Youth Liberation Night, describing the programme as a potent
panacea for liberating the minds of youths in the state. Honourable Funkekeme
gave the commendation at the King of Glory Family Church, Burutu while
speaking as a Special Guest during the programme tagged "Delta State
Youth Liberation Night" organized by the Directorate of Youth Development
in conjunction with the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria
(YOWICAN) The Lawmaker, who
said that the people of Burutu are God fearing, appealed to youths in
particular to live their lives one day at a time. While commending the
efforts of the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in bringing development
to the riverine communities, he added that the success story of the Governor
has the blessing of God, as Dr. Uduaghan believes in the absolute power
of God Almighty. Hon Funkekeme also
commended one of the indigenes of the area Chief Ken for his magnimity
in employing over 400 youths of the area in his establishment. The Council boss charged
youths in the state to embrace God and join hands with the state governor
in moving the state forward.

Burutu
Port Will Generate Economic Activities, Create Employment, Says Williams

.The Honourable Commissioner,
Directorate of Youth Development, Rev (Mrs) Omatsola Williams, says the
intention of Government for reviving the Burutu Port is to boost economic
activities in the area and also create job opportunities for Youths in
the State. Rev. Omatsola Williams
stated this at the office of the chairman of Burutu Local Government Council,
Hon. Frank Zuokumor when she was in the area in an official visit on Friday
January 30, 2009. While speaking on
her purpose of visit to the area, she reiterated Government determination
in vigorously pursuing and irriplernet-iting, the National Policy on youth
Development, pointing out that the international convention on the ages
of youths falls between 18 and 35 years. She charged the Local
Government Council boss to key into the three point agenda of the present
administration and urged him to always lend his support for youth programmes
and activities in his domain. He listed some of
the projects to include the school of Marine Technology which would soon
take off, road construction project at Ojobo and Government pressure on
Agip to electrify the area amongst others.He
also described the Local Government as the most peaceful in the State
as crime rate there is minimal. The Youth Commissioner,
who was also at the palace of Ebananaowei of Iduwini Kingdom, HRH Bosu
Dio, where the Youths, women and children were readily on hand to receive
her, lauded the community for their peaceful disposition and urged them
not to relent. She enjoined the Youths in the area to embrace the State
Government Youths programme especially its micro credit scheme and Youths
in Agriculture Programmes amongst others. The Royal father in his response thanked His Excellency, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan for his peace initiative which according to him is already paying off in the State. He condemned in total terms kidnapping and hostage taking under any guise saying that it is share criminality. While stressing that criminality must not be mistaken for crisis he distanced his community from such criminal struggle which according to him is personal |
