Okowa Salutes Igbide Monarch On 44th Coronation Anniversary
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Sunday congratulated, HRM Edward Obukeni, I (JP), the Ovie of Igbide Kingdom on the 44th anniversary of his ascension to the ancient throne.
Okowa in a statement in Asaba on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Charles Aniagwu, commended the monarch for his leadership of the aggrarian kingdom since he ascended the throne of his forefathers forty four years ago.
The Governor noted that His Majesty’s peaceful disposition and good leadership has contributed to the endearing peace between the once troubled Igbide and Okpolo-Enhwe kingdoms.
"His Majesty has worked so hard with his Council of Chiefs and the youths to maintain peace in the kingdom and I have no doubt that the Igbide of today is positioned to remain peaceful with her neighbours even as we celebrate your 44th coronation anniversary.
“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I warmly felicitate with HRM Obukeni I (JP), the Ovie of Igbide Kingdom on his 44th coronation anniversary.
The Governor joins the people of Igbide Kingdom in celebrating His Royal Majesty with good health, wisdom and strength to continue to reign in Igbide Kingdom.
Continuing; “As a bastion of culture and tradition, Ejuwe, has played significant role in the promotion of harmony among Igbide people and their neighbours”.
The Governor thanked the people of Igbide for reposing confidence on the monarch as well as giving him the needed support and cooperation in the past forty four years on the throne, even as he expressed deep appreciation to the entire Igbide kingdom for the tremendous support they have extended to his administration in the last three years and four months.
“We pray that the Almighty God will continue to give you good health and wisdom to pilot the traditional affairs of your kingdom and offer valuable contributions to the development of our dear Delta State,” the Governor said.
